A REVISED ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF DR. SALYER’S A LIFE THAT MATTERS IS NOW IN PRINT
A few months before he passed, World Craniofacial Foundation founder Dr. Kenneth Salyer was able to complete a revised second edition of his professional memoir A Life That Matters, written and published to help mark the thirtieth anniversary of the foundation. Originally published in 2013 by Center Street, a division of the Hachette Book Group, the revised edition features full-color photographs and thirteen “anniversary reflections” that feature new text by Dr. Salyer, bringing his story up to date and allowing him to re-consider thirty years of his and the foundation’s vital work.
Dr. Salyer was assisted in the writing of the second edition by former foundation president Russell Martin, who also worked closely with Dr. Salyer on the creation of the first edition. The book is available now at Amazon and by request to the foundation. It will soon be available at Barnes & Noble online as well. The new book is published by the World Craniofacial Foundation and its copyright is owned by the Salyer Family Trust. Dr. Salyer’s family has generously decided to donate one hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the anniversary edition of A Life That Matters directly to the WorldCF.
Of the first edition of the book, Dr. James E. Zins, chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, wrote: “In Dr. Salyer’s new book, A Life That Matters, he argues that all of us everywhere deserve normal faces, so we can face the world and make meaningful lives of our own. It’s a book full of heart and conviction and joy, the compelling story of how this surgeon has touched—and made whole—many thousands of lives around the world.”
