Fernando Ortiz-Monasterio, MD
Dr. Monasterio is a revered figure in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He was born in Mexico and graduated from the Medical School of the Universidad Nacioal Autonoma de Mexico. During his distinguished career, he has been head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit of the Hospital General de Mexico, General Director of the Hospital General Manuel Gea Gonzalez, Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Postgraduate Division of the Medical School, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and is Emeritus Professor of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He has served as President of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, and the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico. He is also the author of 188 scientific publications and 8 books.
